British Columbia’s Minister of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness, Bowwin Ma was in Osoyoos on Tuesday March 21 for an afternoon workshop with regional municipalities to discuss emergency preparedness.
Osoyoos Chief Administrative Officer Rod Risling said the discussions focused on how municipalities were managing with preparedness and how cooperation with Ma’s ministry could be adapted to make emergency responsiveness more effective.
“I don’t think people realize how much effort goes into preparing for these types of things especially when resources are limited, it’s tough,” Risling said.
Aside from Minister Ma and her team, MLA Roly Russell also participated.
