Letter from Osoyoos Now might be a positive step forward

A meeting between Osoyoos Now and Osoyoos Town Council might mark the beginning in improved communications on the part of the town.
That is especially true if council responds in the way the mayor said it planned to at the last council meeting.
Osoyoos Now specifically outlined eight recommendations to help improve communication. Included were things like town hall meetings on a regular basis and a regular column in the Osoyoos Times.
Mayor John Slater said council planned to implement many of those recommendations.
We think that not only the recommendations from Osoyoos Now, but also the response from council is real positive move forward.
Improving communications coming out of the town hall is one of the biggest issues facing this new council. Mayor Slater has said that on a number of occasions.
However, saying and doing are two different things and this meeting, followed by council's support on the initiatives discussed at it, is hopefully the beginning of far more positive relationship between many in the community and the town.
Hopefully council begins working on these intiatives as soon as possible.
