A motorist who crashed into a telephone pole on Highway 97 north of Oliver on Friday morning didn’t wait for police or ambulance to show up.
It was reported that the female driver ran away from the accident scene between Secrest Hill Road and River Road at approximately 11 a.m.
Oliver RCMP was told the lady was seen heading towards the bridge/hike and bike trail after hitting the pole. The collision caused cable TV lines to drape across the highway, but emergency crews were expected to cut the cables to allow traffic flow to continue.
The cause of the accident was undetermined. Further updates will follow.
