A day of miracles is coming to the Osoyoos Dairy Queen.
On Aug. 8 the Osoyoos Dairy Queen is once again joining in on the company’s 17-year tradition: Miracle Treat Day, with proceeds going to the BC Children’s Hospital.
Every minute, 62 children enter a Children’s Miracle Network member hospital for treatment and these hospitals rely on community donations.
The net proceeds of all Blizzard Treats (of any size) on Aug. 8 will go to support these hospitals.
For the owner/operator of the Osoyoos Dairy Queen, Caron Keens, and her staff, Miracle Treat Day is their “Christmas.”
“It’s our biggest day we call it our christmas around here. We have staff that have worked for us before that are coming back that day because it makes everyone’s heart feel good. We couldn’t do it without the support of our community,” Keens said.

The store raised $5,006, last year, with donation totals rising every year, Keens said.
“This year we’re hoping to even top that.”
Since July 1 the local Dairy Queen has also been selling sunglasses and beach balls, among other items, at the store, with proceeds also going to BC Children’s
Hospital.
“Creating miracles makes all of us feel good,” Keens said.
Keens has also put a call out to children who have attended BC Children’s hospitals to hand out stickers on Miracle Treat Day which say: “I helped to create a
miracle.”
