Wednesday evening’s match, or at least the second half of it, was a sweeping success for the Osoyoos Coyotes.
The team claimed their second win of the month with a 5-2 home-ice win over the Princeton Posse.
Only one minute into the game, Tyler Badger scored the Coyote’s first goal, the only goal of the first period.
The first half of the second period saw two goals for the Posse; Ethan Schmor scored unassisted less than one minute in, and a power play goal by Terrance Josephson put Princeton ahead of Osoyoos.
However, the Coyotes didn’t wait long to bounce back and with 8:05 left in the period, Peter Michailides’ power play goal tied the game.
Another power play goal by Brandon Della Paolera, only three minutes later, brought the team ahead.
Della Paolera followed up with another power play goal in the third frame at 8:30.
Despite having a teammate in the penalty box, Brock Marple’s short hand goal with only one second left in the game brought the Coyotes up to a final total of five goals.
Goalie Daniel Paul saved 40 of 42 shots against him, while the Coyotes made a total of 37 shots throughout the night.
The Coyotes take on the Chase Heat this Saturday, Dec. 8 at Sunbowl Arena at 7:35 p.m. The game is the team’s annual Christmas Toy Toss Game, sponsored by the Spirit of the Game.
