Osoyoos Councillor Myers Bennett along with Councillor Jim King have been appointed as representative and alternate, respectively, to the Okanagan Regional Library Board (ORLB) for a one year term.

Both councillors served on the board from November 1, 2022 to November 28, 2023 and chose to remain for another year.

The ORLB requires representation from the Town of Osoyoos and the annual appointment to the ORLB is made in accordance with the BC Library Act.

The board regularly meets four times a year at the library headquarters in Kelowna, with the library paying all the members’ expenses.

Similarly the Destination Osoyoos (DO) board requires council representation which, for the last year, has been Zach Poturica with Johnny Cheong as alternate. Their term was from November 1, 2022 to November 22, 2023.

The Destination Osoyoos Governance Policy states that Council may appoint a representative to the DO board for a two-year term.

The two councillors will serve until DO’s November 2025 Annual General Meeting.
