The Town of Oliver has approved five projects prior to adopting the five-year financial plan.

The first is a dump truck replacement for $165,000.

Director of Operations Shawn Goodsell said Public Works needs to replace an older 1999 dump truck with a new truck that has air brakes and new snow removal equipment.

Next up is a tree root inventory project in the Tucelnuit area.

“These would be the worst of the worst trees and would mean an outright tree removal/replanting for some and priority pruning and further analysis on others,” Goodsell said.

This project is slated to cost $8,000.

Another project is replacing garbage cans downtown at a cost of $8,500.

The remaining projects include replacing street banners downtown with new spring/summer banners, and building a partition wall in the Public Works shop to separate workers’ lockers from work areas.
