The B.C. Coroners Service has released the name of an Osoyoos man killed after a motorcycle accident near Oliver on June 9.
Robert, Andrew Derby, aged 63, died shortly after arriving at South Okanagan General Hospital, where he was transported after the accident.
Derby was southbound on Highway 97 north of Oliver when he swerved to avoid a deer. He left the roadway and struck a utility pole.
He was conscious at the scene and was treated by BC Ambulance.
RCMP said neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the accident.
