The Oliver RCMP continues to assist the BC Coroner’s office in a pedestrian fatality on Dec. 5.

Police report they received a 911 call from a motorist who struck a pedestrian on Highway 97 north of Gallagher Lake just after 9 p.m.

The Oliver Fire Department and paramedics attended with RCMP who discovered that a 35-year-old man was found dead at the scene.

The highway was closed for several hours during the investigation.

Oliver RCMP Sgt. Don Wrigglesworth said no further information will be forthcoming from police out of respect for the deceased man’s family.
