There are many milestones most of us never forget in our lives and graduating from high school is most certainly one of them.
The 48 members of the graduating Class of 2012 from Osoyoos Secondary School went out in style this past Saturday as they were honoured during a memorable and well-organized event that attracted hundreds of parents, siblings, friends and co-workers to the school gymnasium.
Decked out in impressive robes and caps, the four dozen graduates were told by various dignitaries, administrators and teachers to pursue their post-secondary education, dreams and careers with passion.
Being a teenager and knowing you have finished high school and are about to embark on another adventure in college or university, or perhaps taking some time off to travel the world, is an exciting time in our lives.
The organizing committee that put together Saturday’s graduation extravaganza deserve kudos as they did a magnificent job.
Osoyoos is a small and tight-knit community and the amount of support these graduating students receive from local businesses, service clubs and private citizens is amazing as more than 30 of the graduating students received a scholarship, bursary or award.
We wish all of the graduating students nothing but success in the future and we hope all of them will go on to lead rich, fulfilling and rewarding lives.
The friendships and bonds that you have made over the past several years at OSS are going to last a long time and hopefully all of you will be able to look back many years from now and have a huge smile on your face when you remember the teachers, coaches and friends who became such an important part of your life.
