A head-on collision between a Chevy Malibu and a BC Ambulance vehicle only resulted in minor injuries last week.

Osoyoos RCMP reported that the Malibu and the ambulance collided on Highway 97 near 128th Avenue on March 10 at 7 p.m.

Police report that the ambulance from Oliver was travelling southbound on Highway 97 when the driver of the northbound Malibu failed to negotiate a curve due to speed and crossed the centre line.

The ambulance was travelling routine and did not have any patients on board.

Both paramedics were taken to the Oliver hospital with minor injuries and later released.

The driver and passenger of the Malibu were also transported to hospital with minor injuries and later released.

The driver of the Malibu, a 21-year-old male resident of Osoyoos, did not have a driver’s licence, according to police.

He was charged under the Motor Vehicle Act for driving without due care and not having a driver’s licence.

Both vehicles sustained considerable damage.
