With Canada Day/Cherry Fiesta fast approaching the Festival Society is hosting its first ever “Canada Day Warm-Up Party” at the Watermark Beach Resort this weekend.

The event is aimed squarely at fundraising for the July 1 fireworks which this year is being organized by the Osoyoos Festival Society.

Ken Baker, President of the society confirmed that the fireworks display will be 20 minutes in length and fundraising has put them on course to reach that goal with the inaugural warm-up party helping push the fundraising over the finish line.

The event will feature the highly danceable music of Diane Ball, wine tastings with three local wineries (free for the first hour and cash bar after that), and a photo booth manned by local photographer Richard McGuire with a giant fireworks backdrop.

A 50-50 draw will take place and there will be games like pick a card and spin the wheel, and to fend off the hunger pangs, beef sliders prepared by 15 Park Bistro chefs will be flowing. A whopping $13,000 worth of silent auction items generously donated by over 50 local businesses are a key highlight.

And if all that isn’t enticing enough, a door prize for a two-night stay in a lakefront condo at the Watermark Beach Resort with $100 gift credit for 15 Park Bistro will also be given away.

Tickets are $20 for the event on Friday, June 14 from 7-11 p.m. Tickets available by e-transfer to [email protected], at Elvis Fine Jewelry and at the door.
