Grade 9 student Blake Loura of Osoyoos isn’t keen on the prospect of having to switch schools partway through his high school career.
If he had to begin attending Oliver’s Southern Okanagan Secondary School (SOSS) should Osoyoos Secondary School (OSS) close down, Blake said the change would affect him in a number of ways.

GATE CONSIDERED INSTEAD OF SPEED BUMPS FOR JACKPINE LANE SPEEDING ISSUES

Jackpine Lane might get a locked gate to stop people from speeding down the narrow laneway behind Maple Drive.
Residents of the area have united to sign a petition to have the Town of Osoyoos install speed bumps after a few close calls with speeding vehicles, including a resident’s two Chihuahuas being run over by a car.
Being quite small, the dogs fit under the body of the car and were not hurt.

OSOYOOS TAXI BRANCHES OUT TO COVER OLIVER, PROVIDE LIMO SERVICE

Osoyoos Taxi has expanded its reach to service Oliver and operate limousines in the South Okanagan.
After Oliver’s town council took away Oliver Taxi’s business licence in September after allegations that the company’s operator was drinking on the job and often not responding to calls for cab service, Osoyoos Taxi applied to B.C.’s Passenger Transportation Board for an amendment to its operating licence in order to service the community of roughly 4,500 people north of Osoyoos.
