The Osoyoos and District Arts Council (ODAC) is hosting its AGM on Sept. 4, to be followed by an inaugural yearly awards dinner.

“This is an exciting time and opportunity for ODAC members and all members of the community to become part of a revitalized vision for the future,” a press release from ODAC states.

ODAC held a weekend retreat in February, led by Bill Usher, a senior artist and cultural worker from Golden. The retreat focused on uncovering why ODAC exists and what participants desired for its value and benefit to members and the community.

A group of volunteers was formed to work alongside the ODAC board of directors to help implement new goals.

“The time is right for ODAC to be the vibrant and relevant representative for the arts and culture in our community,” ODAC says.

The AGM and awards dinner are on Sept. 4 at McKia’s restaurant. The AGM is at 5 p.m., and the dinner starts at 6 p.m.

The AGM is free to attend, and dinner tickets are $18 for ODAC members, $22 for non-members, and on sale at the Art Gallery Osoyoos and Mills Office Productivity.

ODAC is also seeking nominations for board members and award recipients. More information is available on osoyoosarts.com or by emailing [email protected].
