The provincial government has re-opened angling for streams and rivers in the Okanagan region due to lower water temperatures and increased flows.

Effective September 16, all streams and rivers in Wildlife Management Units 8-1 through 8-8, 8-12 through 8-15 and 8-23 through 8-25 are re-opened to angling.

The decision reverses previous closures on the Similkameen, Kettle and West Kettle Rivers and tributaries (July 15), Middle Shuswap River (July 30), and Okanagan River main-stem (August 6). All of these

closures were put in place to protect fish stocks due to low flows and high water temperatures.
