The Anarchist Mountain Community Society recently donated $6,352 to the Anarchist Mountain Fire Department (AMFD). The funds were raised from this year’s silent auction and from the proceeds from the annual community picnic, which was held in July. The Anarchist Mountain Community, made up of some 140 property owners, thoroughly appreciates the volunteer efforts of the 30 some volunteers that make up the AMFD. Their efforts protect the community from fire incidents and they provide a vital service responding to traffic accidents in the area. The fire department will use these funds to complete a community based automated emergency alert system for residents and for other projects to improve fire protection service in the community. Accepting the generous donation (left to right) are community residents Wendy Barlow, Candy Anders, Fire Chief Rob Burk, Richard Douziech and John Anders. (Photo supplied)
