The holiday spirit was in full swing Sunday afternoon during the 13th annual Christmas dinner at the Oliver Community Centre.

The long lineup never ceased as people waited to dig in to the traditional turkey dinner hosted by the Oliver Alliance Church.

Coordinator Shiela Lange said they fed a record number of 350 people and gave away 40 to 50 take-away meals. All that was left was a little bit of potatoes.

“The line up just never stopped for one-and-a-half hours,” she pointed out.

“It was wonderful. We are so grateful for the community support,” Lange said, noting that the major supporters were Buy-Low Foods, Kevin’s NoFrills and Big Al’s Bakery.

Lange said approximately 70 volunteers were involved in the event.

Clothing and stuffed animals were available for people to take home, and there was a never-ending supply of fellowship.
