If you have a lead foot in Oliver, you’re advised to slow down.
This morning (July 16), members of Oliver Speed Watch were monitoring how fast motorists were driving on Highway 97 as they entered town from the north, opposite Lions Park.
The speed limit is 50 km/h, but some motorists were travelling 70-90 km/h. However, most were within the speed limit.
Speed Watch volunteers Ron Johnson and Jim Johnstone were recording speeds this morning. It was interesting to see how many motorists suddenly slowed down when they saw the speed reader board.
Oliver Crime/Speed Watch is looking for more volunteers to help keep the community safe. For more information, email [email protected]
