Cyclist hit by motorist

A cyclist who was struck by a motorist on Tucelnuit Drive recently suffered injuries to his shoulder and head.

While en route to the scene on March 24, Oliver RCMP were advised that the suspect driver had left the scene.

Officers attended and located the injured 63- year-old male cyclist who was wearing a helmet.  A witness was able to identify the driver and police later confirmed it was an 83-year-old Oliver resident who said he was on his way to an appointment.

The driver was ultimately charged with driving without consideration under the Motor Vehicle Act.

 

Mailboxes stolen

 

Oliver RCMP are investigating the recent theft of two mailboxes from the corner of Ryegrass Road and Saskatoon Avenue.

On March 27 police were dispatched to investigate the report from Canada Post.

The two side-by-side mailboxes were taken sometime between March 26 and March 27.

The mailboxes are bright red in colour, with the Canada Post logo on them, with #V0H1268 written on the side identifying the location they are associated to.

It was not reported if any personal mail was inside the mailboxes or if any residents were using them at the time.
