Tis the season to be jolly.

And it’s also time for millions of Canadians to hit the road and enjoy some time off from work to visit family, friends and other loved ones as the Christmas holiday season is only days away.

The holiday season also means a different publishing schedule here at the Osoyoos Times.

With Christmas quickly approaching next Monday, we wanted to inform our readers and advertisers that the Wednesday, Dec. 27 edition of the Osoyoos Times will be published this coming Friday (Dec. 22). This means the advertising deadline for display advertising is Thursday at 2 p.m., while the deadline for classified advertising will close Friday at 2 p.m.

The Osoyoos Times will be closed, as usual, on Saturday and Sunday and will also be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

We will return to regular business hours on Dec. 27 and will also be open for business on Thursday, Dec. 28 and Friday, Dec. 29.

We will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 30 and Sunday, Dec. 31, as well as New Year’s Day on Monday, Dec. 1.

Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Advertising deadlines for the Wednesday, Jan. 3 edition of the Osoyoos Times will be Friday, Dec. 29 at 2 p.m. for display advertising and Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 2 p.m. for classified advertising.

We hope everyone enjoys a safe, happy and very Merry Christmas and a joyous New Year.

We also urge everyone who is travelling out of town to take their time and drive safely to their destination.

And please don’t drink and drive. The RCMP will once again be out in full force with Counter Attack roadside spot checks and officers will do everything in their power to catch drivers who are impaired by alcohol or drugs.
