Dear Editor:
My husband purchased a rechargeable flashlight locally. While being charged, it exploded like a rocket and fortunately landed on a ceramic title floor, where the small fire was quickly extinguished.
The fire department came to rid the house of smoke. I shudder to think of the consequences if we had not been home at the time.
A special thanks goes out to the local volunteer firefighters for their help during this incident. I also hope this letter serves as a warning to homeowners who might find themselves in such a dangerous situation.
Thank you.
Dorothy Riley,
Osoyoos, B.C.
