Dear Editor:

In early November Nancy Mullen and I travelled from Summerland to Osoyoos to attend a bridge tournament at the United Church in Osoyoos.

I would like to extend my thanks to the Osoyoos Grandmothers For Africa for the very enjoyable Charity Bridge Social that they presented.

Besides the bridge games, there were frequent draws for door prizes that were well thought out and selected items that I’m sure would be enjoyed by all recipients.

I know Nancy and I will enjoy our prizes.

My floral arrangement is taking “pride of place” in the centre of our dining room table as I write.

It has been most enjoyable.

A delicious homemade lunch capped a morning of bridge, which fueled us for an afternoon of more bridge and socializing.

The cheerful, upbeat attitude of the organizers and the friendly atmosphere made “bad hands” bearable and “good hands” that much more enjoyable.

Besides the bridge games there were various items – gorgeous scarves, jewelry, and handbags –  available for purchase, which allowed one a further opportunity to make a contribution to the Grandmothers For Africa (while getting some Christmas gift items).

We appreciate all the hard work that went into arranging and organizing the tournament – plus the attention to detail that kept the day flowing smoothly.

Do keep our names on file to be notified of future tournaments.

We look forward to seeing you next year at your 2015 Charity Bridge Social.

Thank you once again to all of the organizers and everyone who participated for allowing us to enjoy our recent visit to Osoyoos.
