Those managing their library accounts on their smartphones can no longer use Okanagan Regional Library’s (ORL) mobile application.
Last month ORL announced it is discontinuing the app in order to save costs and transition to a new library computer system.
Instead, library patrons are being directed to a web-based catalogue that is optimized for mobile devices at http://ipac.orl.bc.ca/mobile.
A new website is being launched that will allow patrons to search the catalogue, renew items, place holds and perform other requests.
“Your experience using the Mobile Catalogue on a smartphone or tablet will be very similar to your experience with the full catalogue website on desktop computers, but optimized to fit the smaller screen,” ORL said in a news release.
