Wine, wine (and people) everywhere.
That summed up the 23rd annual Festival of the Grape in Oliver on Sunday. In fact, approximately 5,000 people packed the community park to taste great wines and watch the grape stomp competition.
Lukas Koutsky (wearing a blue dress) and Tereza Hajkova from the Czech Republic had a blast stomping those grapes as did cowgirls (Blame It On My Juice) Amy Rosendahl, Leah Porter and Jaymi White from Montana. Approximately 30 teams competed for bragging rights.
Vernon sisters Jill and Janette Luxton brought their rubber floaties with Nicole Niehaus to enter a team, while Kevin Singh from The Beerd Show and Sam Stringer from Vancouver were merely content to watch. Gotta love Sam’s beard!
Media outlets Osoyoos Today and Castanet also competed in the grape stomp while party band Jack and Jill (among others) rocked the community stage.
