A few years ago, a more astute town council felt Osoyoos needed two fire halls – one in the east end of town and the other on the west side.
I’m sure the population of the town was similar to what it is today.
What I find amusing, is the Osoyoos Indian Band will help fund a fire hall so far away from their properties.
I’m not against a new fire hall. I just feel it should be two small halls. I think this is what’s best for our community moving forward.
I think the idea of a huge new fire hall is to have a social centre for the volunteer fire department.
Those are a few of my thoughts on this matter.
