Dear Editor:
It is with heartfelt gratitude that the leaders with the Royal Canadian Legion thank the members of our club who volunteered their help during the successful 2016 Poppy Campaign.
It takes a lot of work to put on a Poppy Campaign and I must say that everyone did a wonderful job.
It’s not easy standing for hours on the sidewalk to hand out Poppies and I want you to know it’s greatly appreciated.
I would also like to thank all of the Air Cadets for doing double duty on the street during Poppy tagging days and for standing as sentry guards at the cenotaph during the annual Remembrance Day ceremony.
Thank you once again for all of the other members who put in a lot of time to make this year’s campaign and Remembrance Day ceremony such a success.
I hesitate to mention names for fear of leaving anyone out, but you know who you are and you should feel proud for working hard for a noble cause.
I would also like to say thanks once again to the people of Osoyoos and anyone else who donated to the Poppy Campaign.
We could not do what we do without your generosity. These funds go into a trust fund and are spent to assist our Veterans and their families in times of need.
Take care everyone.
