Survey results available soon

Results of the Osoyoos and Area 2005 Community Opinion Survey should be tabulated by the end of September.
The Public Opinion Survey is a very important part of our organization's annual priorities and strategic direction review, said Destination Osoyoos Executive Director Glenn Mandziuk.
Opinions voiced in the survey will help direct some of the projects Destination Osoyoos will be working on in the coming year.
Every year our Board of Directors holds a strategy session meeting to go over ideas and initiatives. A number of professionally prepared plans contain industry input, including our new Millennium Strategy, Tourism Destination Strategies and the Rural Smart Communities Initiative, to name a few.
Together with these plans and strategic directions indicated by our partners, such as the South Okanagan Conservation Program, FORREX and the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association, additional input from the public is obtained through important opinion surveys such as the one just released.
This last survey is designed to obtain the residents' feelings concerning the community's future, key issues such as affordable housing, our downtown, health care, potential business opportunities, and general opinions on Osoyoos' key strengths and challenges that need to be addressed, Mandziuk said.
The results will be summarized and form a key part of the information presented and reviewed by Destination Osoyoos' Board of Directors in a strategy session early this fall.
Our mission, goals and core objectives for the coming year are assessed and our priorities are identified [at this session].rnThe mission, goals and core objectives form a significant part of Destination Osoyoos' Annual Operations Report.
