Oliver firefighters were quick to respond to a house fire off Tucelnuit Road late this afternoon.
Members were called to 7145 Nk’Mip Vineyard Road, the home of former firefighter Travis Bolenback. Upon arrival, smoke could be seen billowing from the top floor, but most of the damage was evident at the rear of the home.
Initial reports from dispatch indicated there was someone in the house at the time of the fire. This was followed up by report of a dog in the home. However, no details were available to confirm if anyone or any animal was injured.
Firefighters attacked the blaze from the rear of the home, which appeared to be heavily damaged by fire and smoke. The cause is still being investigated.
