February 24

Single vehicle collision

The Oliver RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision in the 8000 block of Highway 97.  The 72-year-old Oliver resident, operating a white GMC pickup had driven off road left striking a section of fence and a rock.  The driver and passenger represented that a cube van merging onto the highway from Tucelnuit Drive cut them off causing the driver to take evasive action which in turn resulted in the pickup going into a spin and striking a fence.  The road was particularly slippery at the time of the collision.  Neither driver nor passenger were injured.

Collision

The Oliver RCMP responded to a report a blue Jeep had struck a power pole in the vicinity of Road 4 and Highway 97.  Investigation represented that the driver of the Jeep had braked for a vehicle that stopped suddenly in front of her causing a loss of control and the vehicle veering off the road striking a power pole then a road sign.  Road conditions were icy at the time of the accident and, the vehicle was not equipped with winter tire.  No injuries were sustained as a result of this crash.
