The town will be installing washrooms on the West Bench in the area of the off-leash dog park and pickleball courts.
Council voted to give pre-budget approval at its Oct. 1 regular council meeting.
A report from Jim Dinwoodie, director of operational services (public works) notes that the nearest sewer line is more than 550 metres away at Highway 97, so he recommended a prefabricated washroom with septic tank.
The project budget is $87,100.

Great! When will there be lights or a crosswalk at lakeshore dr. and Hwy 3 by Rattlesnake Canyon? Kids run across that road during summer and so far have been quite lucky. Even solar powered flashing pedestrian lights would help. Why does there have to be fatality before something is done? That backwards thinking. Yes, this has bothered me for years.
