Dear Editor:
Congratulations to the Festival and Fireworks Committees for another very successful July 1st Canada Day event in Osoyoos. This year’s parade was certainly one of the biggest ever and the fireworks display was memorable as usual.
I would also like to recognize the much-appreciated contribution by our Indo-Canadian community. The dancing, the great samosas and the active presence simply reinforced why our community is a great place to live and visit.
Visitors and residents alike may be tempted to take things for granted but the Cherry Fiesta simply does not happen every year without the many contributions by the volunteers who work, before, during and after the event to make sure our community continues to be a special place.
While irrigation makes us green and the sun makes us warm, it’s the people and their contributions to our community that make us rich.
Thanks!
Mat Hassen
