If you have large waste items in need of being removed from your home, check the week of April 16-20 off on your calendar.
Residents in Osoyoos and Oliver, as well as rural RDOS areas, will receive large item collection on their regular garbage collection day from April 16 to 20.
A maximum of two large items per home will be accepted and only items of furniture, appliances or mattresses will be collected.
Carpet, plumbing, toilets, hot water tanks, heat pumps, furnaces or renovation material will be not picked up. TVs or monitors will also not be collected as glass and lead pose a serious health issue when broken.
All electronics, including TVs and monitors, can be recycled free of charge at the bottles depots in Osoyoos and Oliver and the Oliver, Okanagan Falls and Keremeos Landfills.
Local municipalities handle curbside collection for their communities and residents inside a municipality can contact their local government for more information.
For more information on rural curbside collection, contact the RDOS Solid Waste Division at 250-490-4129, [email protected] or visit www.rdos.bc.ca.
