The Rotary Backpack Program was one of 11 community recipients of the Osoyoos Credit Union’s Community Giving Fund which recently announced the awarding of $24,000 in grants.
Rotary’s Backpack Program, which distributes food to school children and their families each weekend, received a donation of $1,750. The OCU is also accepting donations of food to support the program. “The need is growing with food costs rising, presenting a challenge each week,” said Rotary.

Rotary members and volunteers do the shopping and packing every week during the school year. The OCU is also accepting donations of food to support the program.
