Just in time for wildfire season the Oliver Fire Department took delivery of a new Structure Protection Unit (SPU) on April 16.

This SPU is equipped with six high pressure Mark 3 Watson edition pumps and two portable bladder tanks.

Each pump is capable of protecting numerous properties with multiple structures on each property.

The unit is packed with a large diameter supply hose, 1.5 inch hand lines as well as an econo line (similar to your garden hose) for added protection.

The unit has multiple styles of sprinklers for rooftop, gutter and ground mounting applications to protect against fire spread in a wildfire environment.  The SPU also contains chainsaws, hand tools and other equipment to aid firefighter efforts while on the fire line.
