The Sun Bowl Skating Club will be presenting their 2023 Holiday Showcase at the Sun Bowl Arena on Thursday, December 21 2023.
“All of our skaters and coaches have been working hard to get our Star 1 and up skaters ready for our annual holiday celebration,” said Patricia Fortunato, Head Coach of the Sun Bowl Skating Club.
“Be sure to come out, show your support, and see what we have been up to so far this season!” she adds.
The club recently traveled to Nelson to attend their third competition of the season – the 2023 West Kootenay Invitational.
“The club and coaches couldn’t be more proud of each of the skaters,” Fortunato said. Eight club skaters travelled to Nelson and competed through 11 events bringing home a total of three golds, five silvers, and one bronze.
“The results were outstanding with the club bringing home some impressive hardware, lots of podium finishes, and great new personal best scores!”

Patricia Fortunato and Secondary Coach Sabrina Fortunato expressed their joy at the results and in particular “each of the skaters’ determination” throughout the entire competition.
“Way to go skaters, let’s keep up the great work for the club’s 2023 Holiday Showcase and the next competition in February 2024,” the head coach added.
