Our mission at WOW is: “To enrich the lives of women and children in our community and beyond.”
Through our fundraising projects we support:
- Desert Sun Counselling
- Highway to Healing
- Oliver Food Bank
- Air Cadets
- Sun Fun Program
- Starfish Backpack Program
- Ukraine Nightingale Project
- Small Wheels Park, to name a few.
We also provide community services, teas at the senior’s centre, volunteering at the vaccine clinics, etc.
The WOW Trade Show has been held every spring for the last 30 years.
It was called Mainly for Women because all of our proceeds from the show, except for the expenses, go out to support these listed projects.
It was never meant to eliminate men from attending or taking part in the show.
We have had male vendors and attendees for many years. They too are supporting our mission by their donations, table rental and creating worthwhile projects.
In order to alleviate confusion, “Mainly for Women” has been removed from our advertising and signage.
Women of Oliver for Women is an informal non-profit society of community-minded individuals who believe in giving back to the community by working for the betterment of women and families, providing community service and raising funds for worthwhile causes.
We welcome ladies who are interested in joining us. We meet once a month.
