Smoke from the Park Hill wildfire northeast of Keremeos has been seen from the White Lake Road/Willowbrook area.

Yesterday the BC Wildfire Service responded to the blaze approximately 15 km northeast of Keremeos. A total of 40 personnel are engaged in the human-caused fire, which is now classified as “held” at 47 hectares. This means the fire is not likely to spread in current conditions.

Willowbrook Fire Chief Tony Iannella said his department is not involved in the fire, which reportedly started due to a tire blowout about 2 km east of Twin Lakes.
