The Osoyoos United Church Thrift Shop normally sells used clothing and other items inexpensively, so this presented a dilemma to Manager Anne Polischuk when a donor contributed four beautiful watercolour paintings and suggested she should ask $200 each. Three were done by Penticton artist Marie Tolman in the 1990s and one, Polischuk's favourite, was done by Han Hunter. As of Monday, the paintings were still for sale and Polischuk is hoping to sell them to raise money for Fort McMurray fire victims. Last week the thrift shop raised nearly $2,000 in sales for Fort McMurray. Pictured here, Polischuk (centre), holds the Hunter painting, while thrift shop volunteers Lynette Gates (left) and Kathy Bourget (right) hold two of the three works by Tolman.
