Water rates in Osoyoos are rising.

Council voted last Monday to approve a $10.22 increase to domestic water use rates, and a 2.5 per cent increase to other water district fees.

Domestic water rates now sit at $419.19.

The increase in rates is expected to raise an additional $14,200 in revenues, director of Fincial Services Jim Zakall told council.

The funds will contribute to $587,160 for water capital projects, including a water supply main from Gyro Park to Starlite Inn, water treatment plant design, second and third phases of rural area water twinning, and twinning meter installation.
