UPDATE: Sharon Constance Forner, 45, has been charged with one count each of assault with a weapon, break and enter to commit and indictable offence, and possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace or the purpose of committing an offence.
Forner remains in custody and will appear in court in Penticton this afternoon.
UPDATE: At 1:10 p.m. Osoyoos RCMP arrested a woman suspected of entering a home and attempting to attack the homeowner with a weapon.
The suspect is a 45-year-old female resident of Osoyoos. She is in custody and will appear in court in Penticton tomorrow afternoon, said Sgt. Jason Bayda, Osoyoos Detachment Commander.

Police in Osoyoos are searching for a women that reportedly entered a home on 78th Avenue on Wednesday, asked to see the homeowner’s baby, and tried to attack her with a butcher knife.
The home owner initially posted images captured from a security camera in a group on Facebook.
“She came and knocked on my door I didn’t answer because I have a camera system and she looked odd to me,” the post read.
The homeowner said the woman knocked again and then entered the home and said “I wanted to see the baby.”
“I then said well you shouldn’t walk into peoples houses especially since you don’t know them. She was very creepy and said okay then shut my door.”
The homeowner said she then went to the door and was about to lock it but the woman ran into the house and charged towards her with a butcher knife.
“I threw her out side my house and ran to get my big dog who was freaking out in the back.”
Osoyoos RCMP say they received the report on Wednesday shortly before 9 a.m.
“The resident pushed the woman out of the door and the woman then allegedly grabbed a weapon concealed in her waist band forcing her way back into the house. The resident pushed the woman out of the door once again and reported the incident to Osoyoos RCMP,” the RCMP report reads.
Patrols for the woman were not successful in locating her but police have since identified this woman and efforts are underway to locate her. The investigation is continuing and criminal charges have not been laid against her.
“We understand that this incident was very traumatic for this new mother,” says Sgt. Jason Bayda, Osoyoos Detachment Commander. “We are doing what we can to locate (the suspect) and determine what her intentions were.”
