UPDATE: Osoyoos RCMP issued this statement Tuesday night: “Please be advised that Ms. De Montigny has been located and is safe.  The Osoyoos RCMP would like to thank all those that responded so quickly to our media release.”

The Osoyoos RCMP are seeking the public’s help in locating Gaylin De Montigny, 68, from Osoyoos who is missing.

Police said she was last seen on July 5 and was reported missing on Monday, July 11.

De Montigny doesn’t drive and likely travelled by bus to Penticton early on July 5, police believe. She had a scheduled appointment in Osoyoos on July 11, however she phoned in the morning to cancel. Police were unable to determine where De Montigny called from.

Friends believe she could be in the Penticton or Kelowna areas.

She is described as Caucasian, with white hair cut in a bob style. She is 173 cm tall (5′ 8″) and weighs 57 kg (126 lbs.) She walks with a noticeable hunch and the use of a walker. Her walker is brown in colour with a basket on the front.

Police were unable to obtain a description of her clothing.

Osoyoos RCMP ask anyone who sees or believes they have seen De Montigny to call the Osoyoos RCMP at 250-495-7236 and quote file number 2016-3461.
