One person received serious injuries, not believed to be life threatening, in a two-vehicle accident west of Hedley that has reduced Highway 3 to single-lane traffic.

The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday near Stemwinder Provincial Park, said Sgt. H.B. Hallett of RCMP South Okanagan Traffic Services.

Police say the highway is expected to be single lane alternating in the area of the accident until about 9 p.m.

The injured person was being airlifted to hospital.

South Okanagan Traffic Services and Princeton Detachment members are on scene conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
