The Art Gallery Osoyoos (TAGO) is featuring two Keremeos-based artists – Wendy Provins and Myra Hammond – to the gallery this month, kicking off the First Friday Art Walk with an opening reception.

The duo’s show titled “Here, There and Everywhere” features a collection of acrylic and mixed media paintings, jewelry and greeting cards that showcase their unique styles.

Myra Hammond has been doing some form of art for most of her life and is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Her work grabs the viewer’s eye with colour and the simplicity of the work shows her love for the abstract shape as she explores and experiments in all mediums.

Since moving to the Okanagan she is enjoying the change in scenery from the coast to the Similkameen and Okanagan Valleys.

Wendy Provins is an artist inspired by nature, memory and the places she has called home, living in various parts of Canada and spending several years in Brisbane, Australia. Wendy primarily works with acrylics, often painting birch trees and nature-inspired scenes, while also exploring more whimsical designs featuring circles and flowing forms.

Recently, she has been working with polymer clay, creating unique jewelry and ornaments. Both artists will be in attendance for the monthly First Friday Art Walk in Osoyoos with the gallery holding an opening reception on Friday, May 1 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.  The show opens Wednesday, April 29 and runs through to Saturday, May 23.
