Truck collision leaves Highway 3 west of Osoyoos partially closed

Highway 3 west of Osoyoos is only open to single-lane traffic after a semi truck collided with a dump truck just before noon on Monday.

Near the Highway 3 and Highway 97 intersection, the westbound semi truck veered into the oncoming lane and reflected off the dump truck’s second trailer, Osoyoos Fire Department chief Ryan McCaskill said.

There was no significant damage, and the semi truck driver was taken to hospital for precautionary measures.

A detour is available via Meadowlark Drive while first responders clear the scene, McCaskill said.
