The annual Trick or Treat Main Street is back.

About 40 businesses will be displaying a Trick or Treat Main Street poster in their window. This year’s theme was inspired by the Incredibles film.

Last year the event brought more than 200 community members to Main Street and this time organizers Greg Sol, CEO of Osoyoos Credit Union, Louise Toth and Richard Alexander hope to draw even more.

“It has really been well attended,” said Adrienne Renaud, senior marketing manager for Osoyoos Credit Union.

A photo booth will be set up in front of the credit union to capture pictures and Brock Jackson, host of EZ Rock’s The Brock Jackson Show, will be broadcasting his program live, on location, from outside of its office.

In addition to all the candy, children will have the chance to win a bicycle for having the best costume. To be included in the costume contest, parents must sign up their children at the Osoyoos Credit Union reception desk.

The popular community event was started five years ago by the staff at the Osoyoos Credit Union. They decided that there should be a family-friendly event for the community to celebrate Halloween.

“It’s our way of giving back,” said Renaud.

She added that the event gives the community the opportunity to come downtown and meet the “tight-knit business community in Osoyoos.”

The event is a “safe, fun place for people to gather and have fun,” said Renaud. In these changing times, “people like to have a safe place to trick or treat.”
