Those tuning in to the April 20 Osoyoos town council meeting were met with silence for the first hour of the meeting and town staff are working to fix the audio issues.
“We are looking into the issue that caused the error — it seems as if it has something to do with our streaming software encoder,” said Brianne Hillson, deputy corporate officer with the Town of Osoyoos. “We have an email into iCompass who we use for streaming the council meetings, along with Eastlink to see if they have a copy of the video that we can use. Council meetings are broadcasted on Eastlink’s Community Channel, but I am not sure as to the specific time it is aired. I do have an email into Eastlink to find out that information.”
The audio does return around the 57-minute mark in the video.
“We are working with the software company to ensure that the public can access our meetings online during and after the meetings,” Hillson said.
