A marketing student from Belgium will intern with the Town of Oliver starting in February.

Corporate officer Diane Vaykovich reported that the student will spend 15 weeks working for the Town (at no cost) in order to obtain his degree.

She said the student will assist the Town in its marketing plan, specifically in the area of downtown revitalization.

Chief Administrative Officer Cathy Cowan will oversee the student’s work.

Mayor Ron Hovanes said the Town decided to jump at the opportunity to “give the young man a chance to see what he can do.”
