Two public barbecue events are taking place on Friday and Saturday as teams try to raise donations for their participation in the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Big Bike Ride.
The Town of Osoyoos is holding a Family Barbecue Fundraiser Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Gyro Park.
The event includes live entertainment with the duo Sister Soul, along with family activities and face painting.
The town is selling hamburgers and hotdogs with chips and drinks at Friday evening’s event.
The Town of Osoyoos has a team in the Big Bike Ride, which takes place in Osoyoos on Wednesday, May 9. The town team is scheduled to ride the 30-seat bike at 5 p.m. that day.
The second barbecue event takes place at Buy-Low Foods on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the store.
Buy-Low Foods also has a team in the Big Bike Ride.
There are seven local teams participating in the Osoyoos Big Bike Ride event, which raises funds for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, as well as raising awareness about physical fitness.
