The rotating teacher strikes continue next week in School District 53, where teachers will be withdrawing their services on Thursday, June 5. Parents are asked to keep their children home on that day or make other arrangements for child care. Early learning programs that utilize school facilities may be disrupted due to picket lines.
District superintendent Bev Young said they hope the dispute will end quickly so that normal school operations can resume. “In the meantime, we are doing everything possible during this challenging time to keep the focus on students and minimize any impact that this current labour dispute may have on their education.”
