The Swinging Skirts Golf Tournament has raised $9,000 for local charity Highway to Healing at its golf tournament last month.
Nk’Mip Canyon Desert Golf Course hosted the tournament on August 29, with 128 golfers coming from British Columbia, Alberta and NWT taking part. Money was raised through a silent auction, raffles, etc., with all proceeds going to Highway to Healing.
The Swinging Skirts Golf Tournament Committee extended its “heartfelt thanks for your generous support of this year’s event.
“Because of you, we are proud to share that we raised $9000 for Highway to Healing, a local charity dedicated to supporting families with sick children by helping cover travel, food and parking expenses during difficult times. Your generosity made this possible and we cannot thank you enough,” they said.
The sunny South Okanagan day was filled with “laughter, great golf and a community spirit.”
“The golfers had a wonderful time, and your sponsorship was a huge part of making it all happen,” the Committee said of the event sponsors.
“Your commitment not only helped us host a fantastic event but also ensures that families in our community facing challenging journeys will receive much needed support.
“We are truly grateful for your partnership and hope you will join us again next year as we continue to grow this special tournament and make a difference together.”
